Nicoli's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Olive's birthday dinner

Here is a picture of the 4 of us (Mommy, Olive, Gabriel and myself) as we celebrate Olive's birthday with a dinner at Mignon, a French restaurant in North Texas. The wine and food were great. We really enjoyed the night. (Mom and Olive looked really sexy and beautiful.)

Happy birthday, hon!

Gio as the Jock

Hi to ALL!

The private achools here in Paranaque just had their sportsfest wherein all the schools competed. Gio was one of the Sunvalley Montessori Foundation, Inc.(SMFI)representative. He played in Badminton,Volleyball & Swimming.

While competing in the 50m freestyle, Gio was able to finish the first 25m succesfully. But unfortunately in the 2nd half he almost drown but still managed to finish the lap by hanging on to the ropes of the pool. I believe that it is one learning experience that Gio & the school has learned. They should prepare long enough so that they will be competitive enough against other schools. As long as the spirit of sportmanship is there. It is not about winning it is how you played the game(parang totoo ah). Hehehehe.

That would be all for now. Take care everyone.

First soccer goal

Hi All!

Gabriel had his first soccer game for the Dealey Dragons last Saturday. And he made his first goal! He was so happy - he told us what he was feeling when he was going through all those Greenhill Hornets players, as he weaved through each one, and even the goalie! We didn't capture it on film, of course, but the moment will forever be etched in our memories.

This was certainly a high for all of us - the soccer player and the proud parents!

Kwento naman kayo.

Cowboy or ninja?

I have to say, Jojo and Gabriel have fully embraced the culture. Name it and it will be done.

The Mausuleo de Montenegro

Here's a new structure that is recently added, we did not grow up with this one, but our kids do. This will be part of their heritage. Kaso lang medyo not well maintained din. Sayang yung crypt ni Papa hindi pa din marbleized up to now. Then there are lots of cracks on it too!

The Church

Here's another one, sobrang konti ang pinagbago. I guess, walang big difference in the church that we grew up to and the church that they have now.

Ang Via

This scene is characteristic of Claveria before, what's missing are the scattered white dots (cattle). Madaming sayang, it looks like mahirap maibalik sa dati. Kaya as much as possible, I tell my kids as early as possible and as complete as possible.

Saint's Family

The Saint's Family - AGUSTIN/MONTENEGRO, pagsamahin mo ba naman ang Maria Rosario (Maria na Rosario pa) at Thomas na may apilyedo na Agustin diba puro santo yon...? Like super Lolo and Lola - Miguel and Rosario... ha ha ha mababait kasi kami. Our beautiful kids Keem & Meg. Ito lang masasabi ko, it's nice to be part of the Montenegro clan.

Tito Manoy's Place

One of the structures visible from the lancha when approaching Claveria is Tito Manoy's house. Although syempre walang tatalo sa Torre. Kita kahit saan.

Pantalan

Here's the present Pantalan, it's longer and the water is not as clean as before. Sayang, but kids still take a swim, hindi naman kadumihan pero hindi na gaano kalinaw.

UPDATE: From what I've read in the news paper, they will be building a RORO (roll-on, roll-off) port in San Pascual and improve the San Pascual-Claveria road. Cars can get on the RORO at Dalahican port in Lucena and get off at San Pascual and drive all the way to Claveria. But this is still in the planning stages. So as the plan mentioned in GMA's SONA that this Pantalan is being "modified" to be a RORO port.

If it's all true , then going there will be easier and much more convenient. But the big question is, WHEN?

One of the Big Trees

Here's a picture of one of the Big trees that we have in Claveria before. Unfortunately, ito na lang ang naiiwan.

Big Trees:
1.) Talisay in front of Tito Manoy's house
2.) Acacia at the Ombao St.
3.) Acacia near Tito Gody's house
4.) Acacia in the middle of the Campo Santo (picture)

Pati nga mga "alitaptap" are gone.

Clocks

So I added world time clocks on our website so we will know what time it is in other parts of the world kung saan merong Montenegros.

Post more guys... kahit walang picture. Kahit message or kwento tungkol sa buhay-buhay.

The Favorite Hang-out

Remember this? O ayan Olive, ok pa yung chair, I was so happy to see this still there. Madaming umupo at tumayo, lumundag, humiga sa bench na ito. This is one priceless item to keep.

The House Repair

Hi guys,

I like the sound of the comments with regards to the "Malaking Tindahan". I agree, we cannot rely on our Titos and Titas, ever since they have their own agendas. Honestly, I feel bad that the things that we grew used to are starting to rot away. Yes, the house is now some sort of "talyer".

I will join you guys, those who pledged support for the plan to renovate the house. Tatlo na tayo, sana madagdagan pa. The house is in under the MONTENEGRO Properties and not under one person. Every MONTENEGRO has the right to the house. It will be kept that way.

Siguro we can have the floors, ceilings and rooms of the 2nd floor fixed. Then depending on the availability of funds, we can move on to the lower floors. Believe me, nakaka-awa talagang tingnan. And let's all (cousins) make a pact to keep the house intact for the future generations.

I am open to suggestions on how we go about this plan. Sana hindi maudlot. And 'Liv with regards to the "L" shaped chair? Well.....

Torre

Here's a shot of the Torre. Sana makita ni Topee hehehe. Lately, na-realize ko, none of us, ever fell from that side na walang baluster. Makes you wonder hehehe. Dyan kami nila Gerrymike and Dondon would drink beer sa gabi. We used to sneak out beer from the fridge na de-gaas.

Ang Poste

Remember these? I used to hug these whenever I'm there. It's such a pity that this place and structures are rotting away as we're reminiscing. Hopefully, in the future (sana hindi super future) we can all pitch-in and make it to what it used to be.

The Simbahan view

This is an unforgettable view. As this is what we see everytime we're in front of the "Malaking Tindahan". That's San Isidro St. BTW.
